Vyjad\u0159uje z\u00e1kladn\u00ed postoj \u010dlov\u011bka v\u016f\u010di Bohu, kter\u00fd mu nab\u00edz\u00ed svou sp\u00e1su. \u010clov\u011bk m\u00e1 sp\u00e1su p\u0159ijmout z ruky Bo\u017e\u00ed a otv\u00edr\u00e1 se j\u00ed tak, \u017ee uzn\u00e1 svou h\u0159\u00ed\u0161nost.<br \/>\nPrvn\u00ed \u010d\u00e1st Modlitby Je\u017e\u00ed\u0161ovy: \u201ePane Je\u017e\u00ed\u0161i Kriste, Synu Bo\u017e\u00ed\u201c je vyzn\u00e1n\u00edm v\u00edry. Je\u017e\u00ed\u0161 je tam vyzn\u00e1v\u00e1m jako Kristus, tj. Mesi\u00e1\u0161, Pomazan\u00fd. \u201eJe\u017e\u00ed\u0161 nen\u00ed nic, nen\u00ed-li Kristus, a Kristus nen\u00ed nic, nen\u00ed-li Je\u017e\u00ed\u0161.\u201c Na\u0161e bezmezn\u00e1 d\u016fv\u011bra v n\u011bho se zakl\u00e1d\u00e1 na jeho bo\u017estv\u00ed. Nen\u00ed mo\u017eno opakovat tato slova, ani\u017e bychom z\u00e1rove\u0148 rostli v nezlomn\u00e9 d\u016fv\u011b\u0159e.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Velikost Kristova je v protikladu k nepatrnosti \u010dlov\u011bka. Tu pak vyjad\u0159uje druh\u00e1 \u010d\u00e1st Modlitby Je\u017e\u00ed\u0161ovy: \u201esmiluj se nade mnou h\u0159\u00ed\u0161n\u00fdm\u201c. Ty jsi v\u0161e, j\u00e1 nejsem nic. Sv\u016fj h\u0159\u00edch nepotla\u010dujeme, ale vyzn\u00e1v\u00e1me. Prav\u00e1 modlitba v\u017edycky \u201evyv\u011br\u00e1 z hlubin\u201c (\u017d 130,1).<\/p>\n<p>Formulace Modlitby Je\u017e\u00ed\u0161ovy sice nen\u00ed nic absolutn\u00edho, ale ur\u010dit\u011b nelze doporu\u010dit, aby se jej\u00ed zn\u011bn\u00ed st\u00e1le m\u011bnilo. D\u00e1 se ov\u0161em zkr\u00e1tit tak, jak se ji modlil rusk\u00fd poutn\u00edk: \u201ePane Je\u017e\u00ed\u0161i Kriste, smiluj se nade mnou.\u201c Je dokonce mo\u017eno shrnout ji v pouh\u00e9 zvol\u00e1n\u00ed \u201eJe\u017e\u00ed\u0161i!\u201c. Nejde o opakov\u00e1n\u00ed mantry, jak by se mohlo zd\u00e1t: mantra je pouh\u00fd zvuk bez obsahu, kde\u017eto kdo opakuje Modlitbu Je\u017e\u00ed\u0161ovu, modl\u00ed se Jm\u00e9no pozorn\u011b a s \u00factou. Tak se jm\u00e9no st\u00e1v\u00e1 jakousi sv\u00e1tostnou p\u0159\u00edtomnost\u00ed Milovan\u00e9ho.<\/p>\n<p>Pro mnoh\u00e9 je Modlitba Je\u017e\u00ed\u0161ova nejrychlej\u0161\u00ed cestou k vnit\u0159n\u00ed harmonii. Pomal\u00e9, rytmick\u00e9 opakov\u00e1n\u00ed modlitby vede k intenzivn\u011bj\u0161\u00ed soust\u0159ed\u011bnosti a pozornosti, k v\u011bt\u0161\u00ed prostot\u011b a jednot\u011b, k hlub\u0161\u00edmu pokoji. Poka\u017ed\u00e9, kdy\u017e vyslov\u00edme jm\u00e9no Je\u017e\u00ed\u0161ovo, zapom\u00edn\u00e1me sami na sebe a ztr\u00e1c\u00edme se v N\u011bm. Poka\u017ed\u00e9 um\u00edr\u00e1me sami sob\u011b, abychom v\u00edce \u017eili pro n\u011bho.<\/p>\n<p>Ze stejnojmenn\u00e9 knihy \u0161v\u00e9dsk\u00e9ho karmelit\u00e1na W.
